Former India all-rounder and ex-UAE coach Robin Singh, in partnership with Srinivas Babu, has officially launched the Robin Singh Relations (RSR) Cricket Academy in Dubai. The initiative aims to redefine youth cricket training by prioritizing real match experience over repetitive drills and routine nets.
Designed for players aged 7 to 19, the RSR Cricket Academy focuses on developing complete athletes who can adapt to the demands of both domestic and international cricket.
“The academy is not just about producing cricketers,” Singh said at the launch. “It’s about shaping disciplined, well-rounded individuals who can perform on the world stage. Staying in the race is important — but we want players to compete with themselves, not with others.”
Initially, the academy will operate across three premier training centres in Dubai:
GEMS Modern Academy, Nad Al Sheba
GEMS Metropole School, Al Waha
GEMS New Millennium School, Al Khail
Plans are underway to establish a dedicated cricket ground exclusively for RSR Academy. The team has also revealed a year-round schedule filled with weekly practice matches, ensuring that players gain consistent competitive exposure beyond standard training sessions.
RSR Cricket Academy has already partnered with county clubs in England, offering selected players fully funded international scholarships. Talks are in progress to extend similar collaborations with cricket institutions in South Africa, Australia, and India, broadening the academy’s global reach.
A hallmark of RSR’s coaching philosophy is its focus on the finer aspects of the game — areas often overlooked in traditional training. Singh emphasizes improving observation, reflexes, and mental sharpness.
“Cricket is a game of fractions of a second,” Singh explained. “The power of observation, listening, and execution is critical. Every small detail counts, and we want our players ready for those game-changing moments.”
Adding to the academy’s credibility, West Indies legends Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Curtly Ambrose have joined the coaching panel, bringing invaluable international experience and mentorship to the young talents.
The academy also promotes a balance between education and sport, encouraging students to pursue academics alongside cricket. To support this vision, RSR has introduced a comprehensive scholarship programme covering both educational and training expenses for deserving students.
“We are here for a purpose, not for need,” said Rajaram Krishnamurthy, Marketing Head of RSR Academy. “This academy is about creating opportunities and empowering the next generation of cricketers in Dubai.”
With its mix of expert mentorship, international exposure, and holistic development, RSR Cricket Academy is set to become a leading platform for young players aspiring to make their mark in world cricket.
