Robin Singh Launches RSR Cricket Academy in Dubai to Transform Grassroots Cricket

Former India and UAE coach Robin Singh has launched the RSR Cricket Academy in Dubai — a purpose-driven initiative designed to revolutionize grassroots cricket in the region. The academy marks Robin’s third major stint in the UAE and reflects his commitment to developing the next generation of cricketers through modern, structured, and analytics-based coaching.

Robin Singh, Founder and Chief Mentor, shared his vision for the academy:

“This is a mission to create a system where every talented child has the chance to grow without barriers. With structured coaching, match exposure, and international pathways, RSR will prepare cricketers for the global stage.”

The academy is supported by strategic partnerships in India and England and features a world-class coaching panel, including:

  • Former India cricketers Lakshmipathy Balaji, Thiru Kumaran, and Debashish Mohanty

  • West Indies legends Curtly Ambrose and Shivnarine Chanderpaul

  • Top trainers like Ramji Srinivasan (India’s 2011 World Cup fitness coach) and Tanveer

Unlike traditional academies, RSR introduces a unique “Play More, Train Less” model, encouraging young players to gain real-match experience through weekly games, intra-school, and inter-school tournaments. The goal is to build match temperament and competitive spirit naturally.

The academy will integrate technology to provide real-time performance tracking and video analytics, offering players and parents transparent, personalized insights into progress.

To ensure inclusivity, RSR will offer scholarships for talented players — including free coaching, equipment, and opportunities to train and study abroad in England. School tie-ups and transport facilities are being arranged so students can balance academics and cricket seamlessly.

Following a soft launch in Chennai, the official Dubai inauguration is scheduled for mid-August 2025, with several cricket legends expected to attend. Registrations open on August 10, and training sessions will begin on September 1.

Robin Singh emphasized that the academy’s goal is genuine grassroots development:

“No tall promises, just simple cricket. Every school with cricket facilities can partner with RSR under my guidance.”
