“Cricket Is a Game of Fractions of a Second” — Robin Singh Unveils RSR Cricket Academy in Dubai

Former India all-rounder and ex-UAE coach Robin Singh has officially launched the RSR Cricket Academy in Dubai, introducing a new era of grassroots cricket built on precision, discipline, and holistic player development.

The academy’s philosophy is rooted in Singh’s belief that “cricket is a game of fractions of a second — every detail counts.” Designed for players aged 7 to 19, RSR Cricket Academy combines world-class coaching with a focus on personal growth, mental sharpness, and real-match experience.

“The academy is not just about producing cricketers. It’s about shaping disciplined, well-rounded individuals who can perform on the world stage. Compete with yourself, not others,” said Robin Singh, Founder and Chief Mentor of RSR Cricket Academy.

Launched in partnership with Srinivas Babu, the academy operates under the principle of “Play More, Train Less”, prioritizing competitive match exposure over repetitive drills. The initial centres are located at:

  • GEMS Modern Academy, Nad Al Sheba

  • GEMS Metropole School, Al Waha

  • GEMS New Millennium School, Al Khail

The academy plans to establish its own dedicated ground soon and expand collaborations with county clubs in England, offering fully funded cricket scholarships. Similar partnerships are also being explored in South Africa, Australia, and India.

International legends Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Curtly Ambrose have joined RSR’s elite coaching panel, bringing vast global experience and mentorship to aspiring players.

A defining aspect of RSR’s training method is its attention to micro-skills — including vision, depth perception, reaction speed, and mental agility. Singh emphasized that mastering these finer details separates good cricketers from great ones.

“Cricket is a game of fractions of a second. Observation, listening, and execution make all the difference. Every small detail matters,” Singh noted.

The launch event also saw the participation of UAE T20 captain Muhammad Waseem, who praised the initiative’s inclusivity.

“It doesn’t matter where you’re from — this academy treats everyone equally. Every child will have a chance to grow with top-class training,” Waseem said.

The RSR Cricket Academy also runs a comprehensive scholarship programme, offering free coaching, equipment, and academic support for deserving young athletes. The initiative ensures financial or logistical constraints do not hinder cricketing potential.

Marketing Head Rajaram Krishnamurthy reinforced the academy’s long-term vision:

“We are here for a purpose, not for need. This academy is about creating opportunities and empowering the next generation of cricketers in Dubai.”

The launch concluded with a quiz competition for young players, where Aryan (6–10 years), Advay Kumar (11–15 years), and Ayaan Misbah (17–19 years) were recognized as winners.

By combining specialized training, international exposure, scholarships, and holistic development, RSR Cricket Academy is setting new standards in youth cricket — nurturing not only talented players but also confident, disciplined individuals ready to excel on the world stage.
